Caged Bird Club exhibition - Berlin 2008

I am finally getting around to posting about the first ever Caged Bird Club exhibition that was pasted up in Berlin way back in 2008. It featured beautiful photographs of Seattle house numbers taken by Matthew Cunningham. (He is also the photographer who provides all the photos for this blog and you can see more of his work here and here.)

This came to life with the help of my trusty Neukölln-based assistant and our helpful lookout.

The night after we pasted this up, we invited a bunch of people out onto the street to have a drink and celebrate Matthew's photographs. I think it was a pretty nice surprise for him.

Amazingly, we went back in September 2011 and every bit of it was still up on the wall. It had aged pretty well and there were a few nice additions from other artists on top.

Including a huge dead bird right next to the still new looking stencil.

Pasted up on Nekerstraße in Neukölln in July 2008, still there as of September 2011.
